Core purpose
A picture post represents a publication whose primary content is one or more ordered images. Ordinary articles can also insert images, but picture-post-specific validation, list previews, detail layouts, and pagination behavior are needed only when the image sequence itself constitutes the work.
A picture post remains both a Post and a Unit. It can therefore directly reuse titles, multilingual descriptions, authors, time, tags, replies, collections, licenses, sources, and Realm publication context.
Established content rules
- Include at least one image; single-image and multi-image posts use the same model.
- Multiple images have a stable order specified by the author.
- Each image can have an asset reference, alt text, and an optional description.
- The first image can serve as the default list preview, without rushing to add an independent cover.
- Semantics such as illustration, photography, comics, or screenshots are described by tags rather than adding more Post types.
Boundaries with other content
An article with images remains an ordinary Post. A review containing many screenshots remains a review. A comic chapter is first a chapter in a book’s Content Structure. Use a picture post only when there is no stronger product role and the image sequence is the subject of the publication.
A multipage illustration can be one picture post. An art book or comic with an overall title, table of contents, and reading order is a book. A group of image works collected by a user is a collection.
In development
Image-sequence editing, upload validation, alt-text workflows, image-first content-feed cards, detail views, and multipage reading still need to be completed. This product page therefore marks picture Posts as “In development” rather than claiming availability from a complete data design alone.
Relationships and boundaries
Underlying image assets are not Units; they preserve files, dimensions, and formats. A picture post is the publication identity that can be collected, reviewed, tagged, and connected to external sources, so parallel image or gallery Units are not created.
